Decent 3D Printer for a beginner or a classroom.

I mainly bought this printer because of the company name, and how well it presents. I really enjoy the semi-auto leveling feature. I did not enjoy the price, but took a chance on it anyways.

Main issue I have is when slicing online and sending the print over the internet. The z-axis is set too low in the code, so the first layer does not extrude from the nozzle because of pressure buildup. I have not yet figured out how to change the first layer z-height in the online slicer. I remedied this by choosing to not use Dremel's online slicer and using the provided computer software instead. It just requires a few extra steps since I cannot send over wifi this way.

Another slight issue is the "live" camera. I would like an actual live feed of the print instead of an updated image every 5 seconds. Also, the ability to record a time lapse through the software. For the price of this device, I'm disappointed in this feature.

Overall, it is a very clean and solid 3D printer. If you have the income to afford the steep price, go for it.

Out of the box and printing in 15 mins.

I own a few 3d printers, some needed assembly and others not. No other printer was up and running as quickly as the Dremel had it on the workbench and heating up in 15 mins, used the supplied USB stick to print a few of the models that were pre-loaded.

Easy to use out of the box and produce high quality objects

Very pleased with the purchase so far. I was able to print right out of the box with the included models (frog) but also with few models directly from Thingiverse (cookie cutters, windup car...) without any issues.

The Dremel 3D40-EDU 3D printer is easy to use with almost no set-up

It was well packed for shipment which caused a bit of concern on how to get the packing material out of the machine without causing damage. We quickly found a video that suggested it was OK to gently lift up on the print head module to get it out of the way. Then we were able to remove the last of the packaging.
